Hema Huis

Hema is a to the Netherlands what Target is to the rest of the world although on a slightly smaller scale. It's a department store with taste and it’s own product line. This weekend I had a sneak preview of Hema Huis, an exhibition showcasing some of Hema’s new products and the winners and finalists from this years product design competition.
The exhibition was very familiar, of course, being full of Hema products. But I liked the corrugated cardboard exhibition stands and the big type spelling 'HEMA' was quite beautiful. One meter high corrugated cardboard letters? That I would buy.
And I think these corrugated cardboard picnic tables in adult and kid sizes would actually be a hit item for students and kids alike too. Quite nice also to see some of the old Hema packaging.
Hema Huis Van Gendthallen, Czaar Peterstraat 213, Amsterdam.
Open October 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 from 10 – 6.30pm.
