Oh you pretty things

Oh you pretty things is a brand spanking new hairdressing salon and it's a little beautie! My long-time dresser, Clint, is there for one. Clint hails from Melbourne (where he worked at Tony & Guy) and is a top Aussie. And the man can cut hair. He snips away in this lovely bright quirky salon, while DJ-ing and sharing with you which song will be played at his funeral. Clint's the one in the hat.Owner, Heath Roberts is from my little island! yep, another bloody Tasmanian. Heath's from Launnie and has been kicking about in Amsterdam for a while now, you may know him from Tony & Guy Amsterdam hairdressing fame. Well, now you can go straight to the source and bypass those hefty prices.
Bright pink walls, endless coffee along with genuine warm and friendly service. What more could you ask for? And you're in for a treat at the wash basin, as Miss Betty Page wiggles her bits before your very eyes. Mesmerising.
There's nothing like the feeling of walking out of a salon feeling all fresh and shiny and new. What are you waiting for? Give Clint a call. The man's gold. Pure gold.

santigold

Santogold changed her stage name to Santigold. I don't know why. What I do know is that the lady can belt out a tune. Live at Paradiso last night she rocked the house.
She put on quite a show with her two dancers. They packed a lotta attitude.
And a couple clips...Lovin' her work. Highly recommend the lady live.

Castles and Palaces

I found these old polaroids while cleaning up my house. Above is Muiderslot, my first ever castle. It was built in 1370 and at a mere 15km's from Amsterdam city it's a nice little trip, especially for the kiddies. Stichting Rijksmuseum Muiderslot: Herengracht 1, Muiden. Opening times vary during the year so please check here for opening current times. Adults €11, kids 4 to 12 years old €6.25.
And this is Het Loo, (pron. 'Low'), the Dutch Royal Family's Summer Palace. This is slightly more of a trek, but well, well worth it. The gardens are amazing. Paleis Het Loo National Museum: Koninklijk Park 1, Apeldoorn. The palace and gardens are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Closed on Mondays, except public holidays. Closed on New Year’s Day. The Museum of the Chancery of the Netherlands Orders of Knighthood, in the palace east wing, is open from 1pm. Getting there: By car: from the A1 and A50 take the Paleis Het Loo turning and follow the ANWB signs. Sat Nav address: Amersfoortseweg, 7313 AA. Car park € 3 per car. By public transport: from Apeldoorn Station, bus 102, Paleis Het Loostop; bus 5 (Berg en Bos), bus 10 (Kerschoten) and 96 (Vaassen), Gedenknaald stop. On foot, about 40 minutes from the NS station. Metal - the latest art show at W+K. Below is AK (left) and French, (aka Richard Sayer) and I had a few rooftop beers and pizza to get ready to hang the next art show.
What makes a good Metal art show? A casket for the beer.Complete with own rat. oh, yeah, and art. Awesome art.Crack Fox is my favourite. And away we go. Below, our employee photo wall was taken over by metal heads.
And time to party.French.
We even had a concert tee.
Dan Wieden rockin' out.
