big car love
My favourite car is the Citroën DS. It was produced by the French manufacturer Citroën between 1955 and 1975. Citroën sold nearly 1.5 million D-series during its 20 years of production. The DS is well-known for its futuristic, aerodynamic body design, styled by the Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni.I just love it.

The travels of bad
I'm out of the office and so missed both Cookie AND Heavy Metal Friday yesterday. But I have this metal-esque eye candy to feast on instead. Zander Blom: The Travels of Bad. Nice. More here.Tuesday, 5 May 2009
food glorious lovefood
If you're an expat like me (and especially if you hail from the USA or the UK) the above breakfast delight served up on weekend morning is sight you probably miss more than dear old mum. Sorry, mum. But fear not! Lovefood is here to set things right, at least on Sunday's.Let me introduce you to your new Sunday saviour, Jason Hartley. Lovefood grew out of Jason's pure passion, from "...a desire to rediscover the origins of food and its link to culture, recreate classic dishes to the highest standard and combine that with today's move back to sourcing great local produce." Rock on.
And that he does, every Sunday at Finch on the Noordermarkt, a beautiful setting and very convieniently my local 'hood. Sunday gone my brother and I endulged The Full Mikey: The American classic breakfast. Choice of bacon or homemade sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, 2 American Pancakes with butter and maple syrup and toast, for a mere €9.75. Heveanly.
I've had the eggs Florentine before and it was fabulous too! Pretty amazing for a guy that at the beginning of the year hadn't stepped foot in a professional kitchen, and now dishes up 100 brunches a week to the expat community at large. Stella effort, Jason, and congrats!
I'm making it my mission to work my way through the entire mouth-drooling menu. Find Lovefood on Facebook to stay tuned for further endevours. The only thing missing now, in my opinion is a good Bloody Mary...but I'm sure we can work on Finch for that...eh, Jase?Lovefood can be found every Sunday at Cafe Finch, 10am – 6pm, Noordermarkt 5, Amsterdam.
