typo tour

As a designer, one thing you really notice in Amsterdam is the incredible typography all around you. From stone carved type above (what happened with that 5??) to lovely hand painted type on doors, pub and cafe windows alike. Take a gander:
Amazing brick and tile work on the Prinsengracht.
This building in the Jordaan features some of my favourite type in Amsterdam.
It's just great.
Love the 'S' and ampersand.
Typical Dutch Street signs.
I like these tiles for their whacky kerning.
More fab tile-type.
Thus type and design looks like it's from the 1970's, not 1736!
Thanks to Guy for reminding me to appreciate what's around me.
