I never thought I'd go on a cruise. I'd heard that they were for the 'newly wed, over fed and almost dead' (harsh, I know), but through the generosity of my would-be in-laws I found my self boarding one of the biggest ships I've seen: Voyager of the Seas. And I have to say, it was pretty rad. There was something nice in not having to really think about anything for a week, and be waited on hand and foot :)
The ship was huge and offered up magnificent views of the harbors we docked in. Above and below is Barcelona.
And pretty soon empty deck chairs became a sea of bodies sizzling away under the sun.
There's entertainment, of course, and we saw a pretty decent Beatles cover band.
There is a touch of 'Vegas' about the place, but that's also kinda fun. It's so far removed from reality it was really easy to disconnect and forget about the world you've left behind.
Snav. What a name for a ship. Snav. I just love it. We parked next to this a few times.
Docked at Napels, with Mount Vesuvius in the background.
The best thing about the actual ship, was coming home after a long hot day out exploring to your cabin to see which little towel animal was there waiting for you. No, really, this was awesome.
Snake was pretty rad.
Puppy was cute.
Elephant I liked.
But monkey was by far the winner.
The next few weeks I'll get through the rest of the photos, and show you all the cities we stopped at. Quite amazing to be able to do so much in such a short amount of time. And for that reason the cruise is a fab way to travel if you want to pack a lot into a small time frame.
