Alain Grée

Two books by French illustrator and author Alain Grée. Grée studied in Paris at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués and at the Beaux Arts de Paris.
A prolific author and illustrator of children's books, Grée published over 300 books for several editors, mostly during the '60s and '70s. His books have been translated into over 20 different languages.
I love the two I picked up in Dutch: Vogels (birds) and Vliegtuigen (planes). The illustrations are just brilliant. I love that Air France and Shell featured in there also. Nice little snapshot of life back in the day.How rad is this plane? Click on the image for a larger view.
Next the bird book, also with lovely bright illustrations. And it has a cockatoo. So, really, how could I not get it?!
I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for other books by Mr Grée.
