Jack Jones

Today some art from Jack Jones. Jack says "After a long and toxic process I have produced a series of paintings for 2010 that while seemingly simple, reflect a passionate theoretical study. The subject matter of the work investigate the physical condition of painting and result in art about art, possibly best described as Art... There is an underlying reaction to the ill conceived Le Corbusier style inner city planning of the 1970s by attempting to reclaim a productive opportunity lost by the impracticability of the existing architecture. The physically intensive and toxic process of Sous Rature (under erasure) using paint stripper defines an eerie space that never fully exist, but acknowledges the impossibility of nothing. Reflecting a world that flips and changes without rest." Above, Syadasti Nasti (in some ways it is and is not), Paint stripper on found oil painting, 103x75cm, 2010.
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: paint stripper, hydrogen peroxide, process yellow and paper on found oil paintings, 167 x 139cm, 2010.
The intimidating Skyscrapers: Paint stripper and process cyan on found Oil Painting, 103x73cm, 2010.
