Liberty's AW11 Fabrics
This years AW11 Liberty's fabric collection is inspired by musicians, artists, greatest hits, album covers and more. Above, three colourways of Thorgerson by Storm Thorgerson. " The Liberty Design team were honoured to work closely with Storm Thorgerson to create this iconic prism tessellation reminiscent of his famous album cover for Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. Storm Thorgerson has been designing album covers for over 35 years and has created some of the most famous covers in history. Storm’s designs are often surreal, placing objects out of their traditional context whilst highlighting their beauty. Since 1983 Storm has also directed numerous rock videos and short films, as well as writing and illustrating several books and is a member of ‘Rock Archive’."A Boy Dreams, by Tana Lawn by Graham Coxon. Liberty says: "A Boy Dreams Liberty Print was created from original drawings by Graham Coxon, put into repeat by the Liberty Design Team. The final design is reminiscent of rock poster artwork of the 1960s, with wood cut line work and the vibe of Esher and Mucha. The design is tonally coloured to give the distant effect of a plain dye."Grace, Chosen by Florence Welch. "Critically acclaimed singer Florence Welch of 'Florence and the Machine' visited the Liberty archives to select two of her favorite designs for this season's collection. Grace Liberty Print was one such design, a vintage, hand drawn lace print from the 19th century. Grace is from the Musicians With Links to the Art World fabrics collection, for which the Liberty design team collaborated with Florence Welch, Graham Coxon, Edwyn Collins and Emilia de Poret. Before her musical success, Florence attended Camberwell College of Art." All fabrics Price £21/m.
