Easter weekend we had Mr E's folks up and went to some very nice restaurants with them. One of the best, and first time for moi, was De Kas, located in the lovely Frankendael park in the east of Amsterdam.
It was full of wild birds, water foul, heren's, and a stalk.
There was one old man feeding the birds, who much be a regular as as soon as he entered the park all the birds made a bee-line to him.
I don't think I've ever seen so many heren's in one place. I counted 14.
And here is the stalk.
De Kas, which means The Greenhouse in Dutch, was fantastic. Nice and bright and cozy inside, while outside it was windy and drizzling.
There's a set course of all locally grown or sourced product. And it was all delicious. We had seafood for our starter and main, all super fresh and so vibrant. My camera didn't want to take a photo of the main for some reason, so then I just have desert, a lovely cheese platter...
...or lemon meringue pie with white chocolate ice cream... my favourite!
Some new sprouts in the greenhouse. Coming to a plate near you soon.
