Pintxos

Food, glorious food. The Basque country in Spain is known for it's version of tapas – pintxos. Mr E and I had dinner at Victor Montes, on the new square in the old town. Amazing food. We had pintxos for starters then a whopping great plate of meat for mains.
Here are the little beauties themselves. All very elaborate, and all sublime.
And our killer plate-o-carne.
Victor Montes also has a pretty extensive whiskey collection, though it was unclear if this as for consumption or decoration only. The place is great, but you must book in advance.

Last day and time for pintxos again! We were in the new square again, having just visited the flea market, so took advantage of having an abundance of choice of where to eat. Landing at a place I can't remember the name of, with gorgeous pintxos. But, go to the square, walk around, the nice places stand out pretty clearly.
Restaurant Victor Montes: Plaza Nueva 8, Bilbao. Tel: 944 157 067.
