Garden Variety Delicacies

Look at these! Incredibly detailed crocheted vegetables from Jung-jung in Japan. Amazing. The colours are subtle and perfect. The intricate work in the leaves in just sublime. I need a crocheted radish in my life. I really do. Or a carrot.
I also think these crocheted planters are genius. They have all the grace, colour and charm of real plants but will last forever. The wooden holders are really stunning in their simplicity.

From her website, I learned that Jung-jung, born 1970, began her love of sewn craft at a young age, and started closh lace knitting (is it really 'closh' lace knitting? Anyone? Or should it be 'cloth'?). Graduating from Musashino Art University, she had many different jobs until 2002, before working for the brands 'Chico' and 'Mother'. With Miki Fukushima she founded 'Knot' in 2006. Followed by the launch of her book Itoami Plants: Japanese Craft in 2008. In 2010 Jung-jung went solo.
