Kidnap Your Husband

So this time last week I was in Florence! It was Edu's birthday on the Friday, so Thursday afternoon I kidnapped him from work and surprised him with a trip to Florence for a long-weekend. My sis, CC, joined us for three days and much delicious food, wine, and fun was had by all. I recommend Husband-napping.
Florence was just beautiful. A small city you can easily get around on foot. I'd been 12 years earlier with CC, but to be honest we were pretty hard pushed to remember. It was a crazy trip...!
The Duomo is stunning. Love me a stripes cathedral.
I'm not a massive church/cathedral fan, as I'm not religious, but I do appreciate the architecture all the work that's gone into painting the Duomo.
A stone's throw away is the Piazza della Signoria. There stands the impressive Old Palace, the Palazzo Vecchio.
Amazing confectionery store full of goodies...and some plates.
This is the Convento Di S. Croce. And in front was a huge chocolate fair! Lucky for us we'd just had breaky and could resist temtation. But man, those cream-filled-sweet cannelloni's look good.
A great vantage point looking out over the city is from the Giardino dell'Iris. Well worth the short walk over the bridge and up the hill.
