Lisbon, We Meet Again

For a second lucky time I got to visit Lisbon. The first was back in 2008 with my sister and Dr Shane. This time around Edu and I are visiting Portugal for a wedding, and we decided to make the most of it and it became our last big trip away pre-Ricochet; our babymoon, if you will. We'd both been to Lisbon, but loved it, and so started out trip off there. Carrying around this belly meant that things were at a much slower pace.
So, our time in Lisbon was pretty chilled; no master plan, no list of sights to race around, we just went where the mood took us. We strolled past the Elevador de Santa Justa, pictured above.
Wondered through the narrow streets of Bairro Alto...
Past trams and the 'ascenors', and more narrow streets to look outs tucked away in the hills. The steep hills do provide incredible views of the city and out to sea.
If you're looking for some nice views, then there's a terrace a friend recommended that's super nice at Bairro Alto Hotel. Also for dinner, the best meal we had was at Pedro E O Lobo (Pedro and the Wolf) – really outstanding. Another dinner place recommended was Pap'Acorda. Lastly, for a night cap I took Edu to my favourite bar in Lisbon; Pavilhao Chinês. I went last visit and loved it. The quirkiest museum-bar you ever saw. The world's 'largest miniature museum' I think it calls itself. This time it was tea (amazing vanilla tea!) for me though, instead of cocktails and champagne.
