My Little Man

He's here. Oscar Thorgal Pou arrived last Wednesday, 6th of November, Amsterdam. He decided to arrive before his due date (9th Nov) with a bit of drama; so we were instantly off to hospital to deal with a few complications, but in the end I could deliver naturally within 10 hours; with Oscar entering our world at 11.35pm. Since then it's been a sharp learning curve for the parents, though pretty good on the whole.
He's a perfect little boy doing all those baby things; eating, sleeping, pooping well, and is quite the marksman; having peed on his Dad four times already. All in all, a very mellow little guy. In the beginning he just squeaked a lot (so incredibly adorable) and it was only after 48 hours we heard him cry. But he barely grizzles that much and is quickly remedied with a feed usually. I'm getting the hang of breast feeding (my boobs are gigantic; I look ridiculous), thanks to my Mum (a midwife, and lactation consultant specialist – hallelujah!). I'm being looked after by the kraamzorg, fed well by the grandparents, and especially well taken care of by Edu who has been just incredible; from  the entire labour to now; I'm yet to change a nappy – he is the change master. And the 'taco-wrap' master (swaddle-wrapping baby) and has patience beyond all, being at my beck and call, and always with a smile. So, I recovering well!
I still cannot really believe we have a baby in the house. But we do. And he's delicious. Not sure how much blogging will happen next few days/weeks, but if it's quiet online you can probably bet it's the opposite offline. Thanks for all the lovely messages – we're all feeling a lot of love.
Lel & Edu & Oscar.
