Puke, Lego, Time Management

Well, as you can see, work + baby + illness ≠ time for blogging. Last night we had exorcist-style vomiting from Oscar. Quite impressive. Poor little man. And then I was going to get blogging and instead got side-tracked looking for Lego and Duplo blocks online for the boy. If you're into Lego, there's an exhibition on called The Art of the Brick with some crazy Lego constructions. I haven't been, yet. It's on until the 14th of September, so there's still time.

Baby Craftiness

After a nice break I'm back at work! And work's been busy so I hence the radio silence last week. In the last few days of maternity leave and I'm trying to catch up on some craft projects. I thought I'd get a lot more little projects done, but the reality of having a little baby to run around after has me with very little free time to do much of anything else. Ah, well. What I did manage was to make a few extra little dribble bibs and feeding bibs. The dribble bibs I used a pattern from Made By Toya. They turned out ace. I used up a few fat quarter pieces of fabric up, a nice piece of Liberty's fabric (white with ships) so it was good to actually use up fabric instead of just hoarding it.
Next up, some much needed feeding bibs. We're on solids now; things are a little bit messy. These I made a pattern based on a bib I had that I liked.
Last but not least, harem pants! I had an old tee I could never bring myself to throw away and found it while sifting through my fabric stash. Featuring a jungle scene with tigers, leopards, and panthers. Perfect for the boy! Again, pattern via Made by Toya. The tee was just big enough for the pattern, thought the pants are a bit bigger than I expected. But he's only 7 months, so he can grown into them. And that's it for crafting for a while probably.

Woodrow's Wonderland

Welcome to the mythical world of Sophie Woodrow. Sophie creates these ceramic fellas from scratch. I just love all these incredible ghostly white creatures. They're sophisticated and elegant and look like they're straight out of a Japanese cult animation movie. Adore. And just look how adorable Sophie is herself as she talks about her work –

One from the vault today; as I discover that one of my favourite Australian designers, Marc Newson, has designed this beautiful rocking horse back in 2012 for Magis. For a mere £651 it could be mine... hmmm. Yeah. It's gorgeous, but I don't think Oscar will be rocking any time soon. He'll have to be content with his rabbit rocker.
